Description
A highly contagious viral disease affecting birds, caused by influenza A viruses. It can range from mild to severe (highly pathogenic avian influenza, HPAI), leading to respiratory distress, decreased egg production, and high mortality in poultry. It has zoonotic potential, with some strains like H5N1 capable of infecting humans.
