Description
A single-stranded RNA virus causing PRRS, leading to reproductive failure in sows and respiratory issues in piglets. Variants include North American (NA) strains (common, lineage 1 (L1), LKB) and European (EU) genotypes. It’s highly mutable, immunosuppressive, and a leading cause of economic losses in swine herds.
